cee cee's closet Headwraps are a timeless expression of African culture and beauty - a bold and vibrant fashion statement for women of color.
As much as we cherish our roots, Cee Cee’s Closet’s headwraps were born out of a more practical need.
When Uchenna wanted to take better care of her curls with protective yet fashionable headwear, she couldn’t find anything in the market that reflected her personal style: bold, colorful, feminine, and fly.
But she didn’t give up!
Instead of settling for her old Ankara scarf, Uchenna and her sister Chioma connected with tailors in Nigeria.
Much to their delight, they found beautiful, colorful fabric of exquisite quality that they could never dream of finding in NYC!
They knew right away that they HAD to bring this to the women of color in the U.S - who deserved to express their heritage in stunning, authentic African headwraps just as much as their sisters in Africa!
Fast-forward four years and Cee Cee’s Closet has taken over Instagram, sold over 30,000 gorgeous headwraps and expanded into fashion-forward clothing, waistbands, and earrings.
But that’s not what makes them get out of bed every day . . .
“While we’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished, it can’t compare to the lives we are changing back in Nigeria, and here in the U.S. Our tailors have honed their skills and learned so much working with us. Today they’re able to send their kids to school, get proper healthcare, and dream of a future. THAT’S the impact we’ve always wanted for our business!” - Uchenna and Chioma
The sisters believe that ALL women have the right to be colorful, engaging, and be who they were meant to be on this earth despite the push to conform.
What lies ahead? They’re super excited to launch Cee Cee’s Home, bringing traditional African woven trays and baskets to YOUR home!

jinaki JINAKI was created in 2012 by Sharufa Rashied-Walker. She's a graduate of Howard University and studied at the Singer Institute in Nice, France and therein began crafting and developing her voice & designer point of view. Her debut collection, African Savannah, included vibrant dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, and tops directly inspired by indigenous african textiles, her love of traveling and her strong PanAfrican upbringing. JINAKI was one of the first brands that helped to define the millennial contemporary african fashion landscape. By focusing on global prints and utilizing culturally rich traditional fabrics. Textiles such as Ankara or Batik were transformed for the modern day woman in a very "non-traditional" way. Her follow up collections Spring Lily, Havana Nights, Bella In Bloom, Zawadi, and NakiGirl embraced this design esthetic and ethos to the core. clothing women $

naki muli Owner + designer Tennille McMillan established NAKIMULI in late 2009. Growing up in Brooklyn, Tennille always stood out as "the weird one" with her unique style of dress. She used that to her advantage and began teaching herself how to sew after graduating from high school at age 16. Tennille developed her skills by making clothes for family members and costumes for fellow dance students at Hunter College. After graduating with a BA in dance, Tennille decided to pursue fashion instead of dancing professionally. That is when NAKIMULI began to take shape. In 2012, Tennille began working with Erykah Badu, and still creates items for her. NAKIMULI has also been worn by Eva Marcille, Jill Scott, Danielle Brooks (Orange Is The New Black), Jazmine Sullivan, and Merrill of TuneYards. Tennille still designs NAKIMULI in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY. clothing, swim wear men $$$

nubian skin Empowering Women, Embracing our Color
"My nude isn’t the nude I see in shops. Despite the reality that women of color have the same needs as all women when it comes to lingerie and hosiery, the industry simply doesn’t cater to us."

A nude bra and skin tone hosiery are the basics of every woman’s wardrobe, at least in theory. For many women of color, finding suitable skin-tone hosiery and lingerie has not been an option. Frustrated by the lack of skin-tone choices to go with her ever-expanding wardrobe, Nubian Skin founder, Ade Hassan, decided it was time for ‘a different kind of nude’.

Nubian Skin launched with a carefully edited collection of lingerie and hosiery to provide the essential underwear needs of Women of color.

Headquartered in London, Nubian Skin delivers worldwide and looks forward to growing the company’s offering and expanding its reach.
